8. COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS- DEPARTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL LICENSURE (DPL)- RELEASE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
I have received several phone calls and e-mails from concerned members who had read an article in the Boston Globe about the personal information of licensed individuals in Massachusetts being compromised.
I contacted Frank Mastrangelo, a member of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts- Board of Allied Health Professions (BOAHP), to apprise him of the situation. He contacted the Department of Professional Licensure (DPL) and received a written response. If you would like a copy of this response, please go to www.mass.gov.dpl .
I have also contacted Diane Sartanowicz, President of the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts (ATOM). While this mostly affects licensed athletic trainers in Massachusetts, there are some District One members who are licensed by the Commonwealth and do not reside in Massachusetts, or maintain dual licensures in other states. Diane will post the information on the ATOM website.
I want to thank the membership for bringing this issue to my attention, and encourage you to follow the guidelines in the following notice concerning placing a fraud alert on credit and to monitor your financial records. For further information, please go to the DPL website at www.mass.gov/dpl or please feel free to contact me.

CHECK OUT THE BOC'S DYNAMIC NEW AND IMPROVED WEBSITE!
The BOC unveiled its new website design on October 8, 2007, at www.bocatc.org. The website navigation was simplified and content was reorganized to better meet the needs of BOC stakeholders. A "Market Your BOC Certification" section was added, which includes press releases, media guide information and more. A new "Comments" section gives stakeholders the opportunity to provide the BOC with feedback, and there is a "Public" section with news and information for the general public.
Certified athletic trainers who were certified prior to 2006 and whose last name on record in November, 2005 begins with H-O must report 50 continuing education (CEU) by December 31, 2007.
The quickest and easiest way to submit CE is through the BOC website. Just log in to ATC OnlineTM to enter and track CE. Please note that there is a $25 processing charge for all paper submissions processed by the BOC. There is no cost to use ATC OnlineTM.
