1.    Sad News...Dick Waterman and Bobby Gunn pass away

I am sorry to report to the Membership on the passing of Richard "Dick" Waterman, longtime athletic trainer at Middlebury College, and Bobby Gunn, the first President of the NATA.

Dick passed away on March 3rd...he was the Head Athletic Trainer at Middlebury for 37 years, from 1956-1993, and was the Head Athletic Trainer at Northfield Mount Hermon for nine years before coming to Middlebury...He helped found the Vermont Association of Athletic Trainers (VAAT), and was considered by many to be one of the Deans of New England
Athletic Trainers...

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Richard W. Waterman Fund at Middlebury College...his family plans to hold a memorial service in the spring...

Bobby Gunn passed away on February 28th...he will be remembered as a pioneer in athletic training in District Six, as well as the First President of the NATA...

At his request, there was no funeral or memorial service...the NATA will offer memorial donation suggestions in a special memorial on Bobby in the April, 2007 edition of the NATA News...

The thoughts and prayers of the entire District One Membership go out to the Waterman and Gunn families...
