Re:         Notes from Stoney

Hi Folks- Hope all is well…

A great EATA Conference has ended…we had the second-highest attendance ever with 1250…65 exhibitors, another smashing Collins Party and some excellent speakers…kudos to EATA President-Elect Diane Sartanowicz for managing a great meeting…

Over 400 athletic training students were in attendance…Boston Red Sox Medical Director Jim Rowe addressed them at Saturday’s Student Luncheon…many thanks to our District One members of the EATA Student Delegation:

Bridget Spooner- Massachusetts (EATA Delegation President) (Springfield)
Molly Jean Burgess- Rhode Island (EATA Delegation Treasurer) (Keene State)
Matt Roberts- New Hampshire (Keene State)
Chris Giacchino- Connecticut (Sacred Heart)
Cassandra Hodgson- Maine (UMaine-Orono)
Meghan Gray- Vermont (UVM)
(Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont will replace student delegates this upcoming year- please contact your respective State Presidents for information if you are an interested athletic training student.)

The highlight of the weekend was honoring our District Hall of Fame members through a video interview…both Rich Pierce and myself interviewed Frank George, Carl Nelson, Mike Linkovich, Joe Altott, Chuck Demers, Jack Baynes and Paul Grace on Sunday morning…a special time to allow our honored crew a chance to talk about themselves and put their remembered histories of the NATA, EATA and State on film for posterity…in the future, we will tape the remaining District Hall of Fame members and have their histories preserved on DVD and available on the District web site…

A lot is happening as my term winds down and reflection sets in…as I tell people- “I’ll hold my comments until June”…and now, the items of the day…
